Welcome to the Jazzpac Events Guide for the period January to May 2014.
Jazzpac is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit, organisation bringing high quality modern and contemporary jazz music to Lincolnshire audiences. Our programming takes place at three main venues, Lincoln Drill Hall, The Terry O’Toole Theatre in North Hykeham and The South Holland Centre, Spalding.
We also manage a very active education programme including the current ‘Miles Ahead’ Youth Music funded project taking place across the county involving 100s of young people being mentored by musicians like Zoe Rahman, Thom Whitworth, Andrew Wood, Jonty Nowell, Lee Hextall, John Crouch, Martyn Spencer, Ben Martin and Colin Dudman. This 18 month project ends in July when we will be presenting a major event at the University of Lincoln LPAC Theatre. Some of these young musicians play in ‘JazzJam’ and perform in the Café/Bar before some of the Drill Hall events.
Keeping you in touch with the live jazz scene is very important to us but the prohibitive cost of postage these days limits the number of times we are able to post out leaflets.
Please take the time to let Angela Moore firstname.lastname@example.org have your email address so we can keep you updated with the local jazz news.
If you havn’t already done so, we would also ask you to consider joining the Jazzpac Membership Scheme. An application form for 2014 membership is enclosed (with this initial distribution of this events guide). This explains the discounts and benefits of becoming a member. Last year the membership reached 81 and we would like to build on this figure in 2014.
